Building Consulting

  • Our Reporting and Consulting service offers detailed assessments and high-quality reports that evaluate whether a building’s design or construction meets NCC requirements.

These reports are essential for development applications, addressing unauthorised building work and ensuring overall code compliance.

We clearly identify any non-conformities and provide practical solutions to help you move forward with confidence.

  • We provide independent peer reviews to provide a second expert opinion on designs, reports and assessments.

Whether you’re seeking to confirm compliance, improve design quality, or ensure alignment with best practices, our reviews offer a valuable layer of assurance.

Our peer review service includes detailed evaluations of consultant reports, design documentation and constructibility—helping you identify potential issues early and deliver high-quality, compliant outcomes with confidence.

Sustainability Consulting

  • A residential energy efficiency assessment is a crucial element in the design of all new buildings. It offers a thorough evaluation of the thermal performance for a specific residence or structure.

In Australia, every new residential building design must comply with the National Construction Code (NCC) requirements for certification.

At OnCert, we are well-versed in these certification requirements and are qualified to conduct energy efficiency assessments for both single-family homes and multi-residential buildings.

  • The Building Sustainability Index (BASIX) is a key initiative launched by the NSW Government to encourage sustainable residential development. Since its start in 2004, BASIX has required cuts in water use and greenhouse gas emissions, making sure new homes are eco-friendly. OnCert is the expert provider for this initiative, offering guidance and assistance to achieve BASIX compliance.

  • A Section J report is mandatory for all non-residential (commercial) buildings classified within classes 2-9.

    • This requirement applies across all states in Australia.

Most councils and certifiers necessitate a Section J assessment during the Development Application phase.

  • The J1V3 Verification Method ensures that a new building complies with the energy efficiency standards set by the National Construction Code (NCC).

You can achieve compliance through either the Deemed-to-Satisfy (DTS) Solution or the Performance Solution, both of which require a J1V3 assessment by our specialised team.

Our experts conduct a thorough analysis, considering factors such as thermal performance, insulation levels, and energy use. The DTS Solution involves meeting specific prescriptive criteria detailed in the NCC, while the Performance Solution allows for more flexibility, enabling innovative designs that meet or exceed the minimum standards through alternative methods.

Our team guides clients through each step, ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared and submitted accurately. With OnCert, you can rest assured that your project will not only meet regulatory requirements but also contribute to a sustainable and energy-efficient future.
